Lower Street is a podcasting company that works with agencies, startups, and enterprise companies to make amazing shows. Shows that matter, that make an impact.

  2. Continually challenging ourselves to learn, experiment, and hone our craft.

From concept to distribution, we help clients to develop their ideas into fully fledged podcasts. And it's really fun.

What's the gig?

We’re looking for an Account Executive (AE) to join our team, and will work closely with folks like Harry (CEO) and Adam (COO).

In this role, you’ll be interacting with potential clients: qualifying, discussing their needs, understanding our mutual fit, and beyond. We're talking about organizations like HPE, Stanford, and Leidos (just to name a few).

We're a founder-led sales team, invest in a top sales coach, and are ready to bring in someone who will build the sales department at Lower Street for many years to come.

We have a clear system for sales that’s working, and we want someone who can come in and own that process. As the first sales hire there is a ton of opportunity to grow with us, take responsibility for the continued expansion of Lower Street, and make a significant impact on our future.

To be clear, you won’t be alone. We foster a collaborative culture and work together to make sure everything we do is the absolute best it can be.

Things you'll do:

  • Run effective discovery and initial calls with prospects.
  • Build relationships with industry leaders.
  • Complete RFPs for specialized prospective clients.
  • Follow (and help continue to iterate) a sales process to help decipher which prospective clients are the best mutual fit to work with us at Lower Street.
  • Manage a sales pipeline to move prospects forward.
  • Reach out to prospects across varying industries and types.
  • Help to establish the absolute best place to create content.

Who exactly are we looking for?

In short, does this sound like you? Someone that is:

  • Extroverted. Okay, maybe not necessarily having to be all the way "I'm always the life of the party," but you could talk with anyone at just about any time, and it feels natural.
  • Communicative. You have excellent written and verbal communication and excel in collaboration with teammates and our hosts.
  • Empathetic. You're in the business of listening and problem solving. Without much effort, you put the people around you at ease just as soon as they felt heard.
  • Adaptable. You thrive when you need to find solutions, make adjustments, and receive feedback. You work efficiently to get the job done by deadlines.

Why you

For this role, you ideally have:

  • Experience (ideally a few years or more) in a sales role (extra points if it was inside of podcasting or an adjacent space!).
  • A real comfort with your ability to speak with people.
  • Prior experience managing and working through a CRM.
  • A real love and appreciation for podcasts.
  • A critical eye and a close attention to detail.
  • Amazing communication and organizational skills.
