Chief Revenue Officer
Come and work with some of the best brands out there.
Make industry-leading business podcasts with a passionate, global team.
Lower Street is a podcasting company that works with enterprise companies, agencies and startups to make amazing shows. Shows that matter, that make an impact.
We make brands more human, make the best podcasts on the internet, and have fun doing it.
From concept through production to distribution and growth, we help clients develop their ideas into fully fledged shows with audiences who care.
In July 2024 we acquired Pacific Content, the premier branded podcast agency in North America. Now, with a base in the UK and North America, we’re set to lead the space from the front and the CRO role is key to capitalizing on that.
What's the gig?
We have a champagne problem; we’re growing quickly, but there’s more opportunity than our sales team can keep up with. We need someone to manage, lead, and accelerate that growth by owning the Revenue Department.
In this role, you’ll completely own the Revenue function of the business. All aspects of Sales will be your responsibility and you’ll work every day with Marketing to get it done.
Just over 30 people, we’re still small, and folks in leadership roles here have a big opportunity to be involved in all aspects of the business and play an active role in steering our trajectory and success.
This is very much a case of mutual growth: as the department continues to expand, so will your remit, responsibilities, and team.
But don't worry, you're not alone. In fact, as your main functions are being inherited from Harry (CEO), you will be working very closely with him and Adam (COO) to continue the old, and kick start the new.
On top of that, we foster a collaborative culture and work together to make sure everything we produce is the absolute best it can be. Directly or indirectly, you will work with just about everyone on this page.
Things you'll do:
- Manage inbound (more than our sales team can keep up with) and develop outbound (a big untapped opportunity for us).
- Revenue strategy and forecasting.
- Sales leadership and management– this is inclusive of things like regular call, campaign, and data review, as well as leading from the front by closing deals of your own.
- Business development and demand gen – establish and refine our outbound sales strategy.
- Align and optimize marketing to achieve revenue targets.
- Partnership strategy and development.
- Develop and utilize data and experience to empower the revenue team to reach their full potential.
- Help to establish the absolute best place to create content.
Who exactly are we looking for?
In short, does this sound like you? Someone that is:
- Versatile. You enjoy being involved directly in a sale just as much as you do creating the overall revenue strategy.
- Analytical. You go deep on data, love spotting and interpreting trends and are great at communicating this to others (in a way they can understand!).
- Charismatic. Internally (with our team) to externally (as a thought leader and more), you are able to effectively engage audiences in any setting.
- Passionate. You love storytelling and connecting business communities through marketing.
- Builder. You’re not just looking to manage; you want to create – from teams to processes and initiatives – that will fuel the company’s growth and your career.
Why you
For this role, you ideally have:
- 5+ years experience of running sales and marketing functions.
- A network in and deep understanding of the media industry – podcast specific is ideal, but not essential.
- Extensive experience with building and executing go-to-market strategies.
- Proven ability to:
- Build, lead, and motivate cross-functional teams – specifically marketing and sales.
- Make revenue optimizations – experience spotting trends, analyzing data, and making changes that move the needle.
- Be a connector – you love people, people love you. We're talking about the team, clients, and partners.
Why us
- Work from anywhere. Your house in the country, a coffee shop in the city, a yurt in the forest -- we don’t mind. As long as you have strong enough wifi.
- Truly great work culture. We’re a young and small, but established company -- you can make a real impact, but we’re not in the business of micromanagement.
- Flexible Hours. Outside of ideally having some working overlap with UK working hours, we have a globally distributed, asynchronous team.
- Generous PTO, sick leave, and public holiday policy. Just throw us some notice and share where you go on holiday!
- Equipment Budget. Headphones, software, staplers, fax machine (probably not that last one) -- whatever you need to be set up for success.
- Professional Development Allowance. Courses, conference tickets, books -- we’re invested in you.
- Planned team retreats in really fun spots. At least once per year, we get together in cool places to collaborate and celebrate in person.
