Why Your Software Development Agency Could Use a Podcast

Podcasting for development agencies might just be the solution your brand needs. It puts a face behind your work, allowing you to tell the stories of the incredible work you create.

You're building amazing solutions every day, but when do you get to show the world the magic behind the code? This is your chance to connect with customers, partners, and the tech-passionate world at large.

Unlike a social post that vanishes or a blog post that’s left unread, a podcast invites your audience into a real, ongoing conversation. They listen while commuting, working out, or doing errands. It’s an intimate medium that builds trust, because it’s you—speaking directly to them, not just a faceless brand.

Plus, podcasts give you an opportunity to engage with ideal clients. Invite them onto your show for a chat, and suddenly you’ve got a stronger relationship before they even ask for your services.

Podcasting opens doors to expand your reach, showcase your success, humanize your brand, and, ultimately, build lasting trust.

"Lower Street brought finesse and flow to Grit & Growth, especially with a sound mix and scripting that truly engages listeners. They helped us create a stand-out podcast that shares insights from Stanford professors and industry experts, while also bringing the stories and experiences of entrepreneurs throughout Africa and South Asia to life."

Tiffany Steeves | Director of Communications at Stanford Seed Tiffany Steeves

Lower Street helped Stanford Seed establish their position as a leader in entrepreneurial training in emerging markets.

Reaching the top of Apple Podcasts Charts in over 7 countries, they were able to reach and influence far beyond their intended audience. Grit & Growth also received multiple awards, including Gold in Best Branded Content Publication from the Corporate Content Awards Europe, Official Selection of the New Media Film Festival and Cinemonic Podcast Festival, as well as a Nomination for a Webby Award.

How Podcasting Helps Software Development Agencies Grow

  • Establish Authority – Showcase your expertise, and position yourself as the go-to expert in software development. It’s not just content you’re building, it’s credibility.

  • Spread Brand Awareness – Every episode has the potential to reach new audiences, and turn casual listeners into brand advocates.

  • Make Your Brand More Relatable: People trust people, not faceless corporations. A podcast adds personality, making your brand feel authentic and approachable.

  • Build Brand Loyalty – Regular episodes and great, genuine content create a loyal audience. Listeners opt-in, and the more they stick around, the more they’re invested in your story and your brand.

  • Turn Trust into Growth – Trust drives decisions. A great podcast turns listeners into customers, users, and even investors who believe in what you’re building.

  • Build a Network of Ideal Clients – Inviting industry leaders and potential clients onto your podcast turns cold outreach into warm relationships. Think of it as networking, without the awkward small talk.

We know what you're wondering

What are your rates?

Rates depend on your individual needs. Just get in touch to discuss your podcast plans and we can let you know what they will cost. But it's probably going to cost more than a freelance editor and less than a big agency.

How long does it take to launch a podcast?

That really depends on you. How quickly will you be able to feedback on creatives, give us the information we need, and sign things off internally?

We can be up and running in as little as a couple of weeks. 6-10 weeks from kick-off call to episode 1 going out is typical, but if you're more ambitious with your podcast production style or content, it could take longer to develop.

Can you advise me on the best podcast equipment I need?

Absolutely. This is part of our launch process, we’ll walk you through what you need to achieve the best possible recordings. Get in touch with us to get started.

Can I hear some of the other podcasts you've produced?

We'd love you to! You can find some of the recent shows we've produced on our work page.

How long should my podcast be and how often should I release it?

Great questions. The answer really depends on you and your audience.

Content length and frequency should be informed by your target listener and what they need, but balanced with what is achievable for you.

This is exactly the stuff what we cover in our show development and launch process. We'd be happy to talk this through with you and create a custom podcast strategy for your goals. Let's talk.

Who is Lower Street and how long have you been in business?

Since starting in late 2016 Lower Street has mushroomed from a solo venture (that one man is me, Harry Morton, hi!) to a full-time team of more than 30.

Fully remote from the get-go, our team is dispersed across North America, the UK, Europe, and Asia. So whatever time zone you wake up in, we're probably online doing our thing.

This isn’t just a job for us. We genuinely love what we do and want to share our passion for audio/video storytelling. You can find out more about us here.

How many clients do you work with?

We've worked on thousands of podcast episodes to date, totalling millions of downloads in a range of industries.

At any one time we could be working with anywhere between 20-30 podcasts.

You can find some examples of our work here.

I've got more questions

No problem! We’d love to talk more about your needs, and vision for a brand podcast. Get in touch with us here and we'll get back to you within 1 business day to schedule a call.
